Floral Diary: DIY Christmas Mantel

Christmas mantels! Where the magic begins for a child...stockings are hung and Santa arrives!

Since I do not currently have any mantel places of my own, I decided to decorate one of my parents. A bit intimidating, I might add, as it is the total focal point of the room! I went with a more traditional mantel place décor, with nods to the 1700s.

I used real garlands (from Trader Joes!), little oranges, pinecones, tiny ornaments (from Target!), light blue velvet ribbon and bows, and a few pieces of tinsel. 

 
I found an angel to anchor one side of the mantel, and a swan for the other, as the heavens and earth came together on Christmas!
